A great way to discover new book genres and discuss them in a friendly group.

Each month we choose a title from a book set and read the same title to share in the discussion; alternatively, sometimes we choose a genre theme where we read a different book from a particular genre. An opportunity to learn comic design skills including composition, readouts, thumbnailing and narrative vs plot. Practice what you learn by thumbnailing a comic based on your favourite song (can be as interpretive, symbolic or literal as you like).
Make your own zine from a single A4 piece of paper! In these workshops, participants will make the simplest type of zine, an A7 zine from one A4 sheet of paper.
Create a unique zine comic with artist Gabby Loo, drawing inspiration from creatures local, imagined and mythological. Here participants will learn how to character design, draft comic panels and ink their final artwork. This workshop will also feature zine techniques such as collaging and DIY book making.
