The City of Kalamunda is committed to fostering the talents and artistic pursuits of young people in the region. This commitment is supported through the presentation of the Young Artist Awards – Kalamunda.
The aim of the Young Artist Awards is to showcase and celebrate emerging young artists through a professional exhibition at the Zig Zag Gallery in Kalamunda, connecting the community with up-and-coming young creatives.
In 2021, the theme is “Our Stories” which aims to inspire the exploration of connection to country, culture, to history and backgrounds of individuals. It can also reference community, to partnerships, fears or hopes for the future. This theme has a broad meaning, and innovative and unique responses are encouraged.
