Membership

Joining in person

As part of the membership application you need to supply:

• Proof of your identity and current address (eg. a Driver’s Licence or Pension Card);

When you join the library you agree to accept the library’s borrowing conditions. If you are under 18 years, a parent or guardian will need to sign the register accepting responsibility for your membership and use of the library resources.

Membership conditions

As a Library member you are required to: 

• Always present your library card to borrow items from the library
• Take responsibility for the care and safekeeping of all items borrowed on your card
• Return all loaned items on or before the due date
• Pay all charges for damage or loss of library items or replacement membership cards
• Notify library staff if your address, telephone number or other contact details change
• Report a lost or stolen card immediately

As a Parent/Guardian you are required to:

• Sign a membership application for your child
• Take responsibility for the care and safekeeping of all items borrowed on your child/children’s cards
• Remain in attendance whilst your children aged 0-12 years are in the City’s libraries

Please return all borrowed items in good order and by the due date.

Join the Kalamunda Library Service as an eMember and have access to our eLibrary of digital resources, including eBooks, eAudiobooks, eMagazines and Video Streaming.

Note: Current Library Members already have access to eLibrary resources.

By Registering through the online form, you will receive a membership number that allows you to instantly borrow eBooks, eAudio, eMagazines and Video Streaming. This does not allow you to borrow physical items from the library.  To become a full library member, please visit your local City of Kalamunda Library.

Any member may borrow twenty items per library card.

We have books in standard and large print, audio books, DVDs, music CDs, magazines, items in languages other than English, and resources for learning languages.

There are various eLibrary services available for library members. These services include:

• eBooks,
• eMagazines,
• eAudiobooks,
• Video Streaming,
• eResources,
• eSafety and
• eLearning resources and tips.

The loan period for items is four weeks (4).

Loan periods may be extended twice either by phone or in person, or once online, provided the item is not overdue or required by another reader. Loan periods for eBooks, eMagazines, eAudiobooks and Kanopy may differ.

• Replacement Library Cards: $4.50
• Lost Books: Replacement Value
• Damaged Books: Replacement Value
• Overdue Fees: Not Charged
