If you are an energetic and confident people leader who connects easily with the community and supports teams to thrive, this role could be for you. Bring your passion for people, collaboration and creating welcoming community spaces. Use your creative, outside-the-box thinking to help shape the future of our City of Kalamunda library services. Library experience is a bonus, not a requirement!
About this Opportunity
The purpose of the Coordinator Library Services is to ensure the delivery of high-quality, community-focused library services across the City’s four branches. This role leads and supports teams, fostering a safe, collaborative, and customer-focused work environment. It drives innovation, strategic growth, and partnerships to enhance library services and community engagement, while overseeing operational planning, resourcing, budgets, reporting and service delivery. By staying informed of sector trends and contributing to strategic initiatives, the position ensures libraries continue to evolve and support the needs of the community.
This area forms part of the broader Community directorate, which includes community hubs, rangers, emergency preparedness and CCTV. The Coordinator reports to the Manager Community Safety and Hubs and has direct line responsibility for four Community Librarians (one at each Library) and an e-Services specialist, as well as coordinating library teams and programs across the business unit, including volunteers.
While library experience is not essential, we are looking for someone who can quickly appreciate the unique challenges and opportunities that libraries present for modern local governments, to be able to improve our services and capability that support community needs. Your skills in leading community driven services and programs in a collaborative way will help us to improve the way we engage and support local businesses, organisations and people in line with our strategy.
If you are a supportive, organised, experienced and skilled leader who cares about the community, we would love to hear from you. Relevant skills include managing teams to deliver valued services and programs including information, publications, engagement, strategies/plans, local government issues and community priorities.
