The City of Kalamunda is seeking an accomplished and forward-thinking Manager Waste, Fleet and Facilities to lead and optimise the delivery of essential City services. This strategic leadership role will drive innovation and sustainability across waste and resource recovery, fleet operations, and facility management, ensuring efficient, compliant and community-focused outcomes for a growing City.
About this Opportunity
As the Manager Waste, Fleet and Facilities, you will lead the strategic and operational management of the City’s waste, fleet, and facilities maintenance functions. You will oversee high-performing teams delivering sustainable waste and resource recovery services, efficient fleet management, and proactive facility maintenance programs that support the City’s strategic goals.
You will:
- Lead the Waste, Fleet and Facilities business unit to ensure effective delivery of services across the City.
- Drive sustainability initiatives that reduce landfill and promote recycling in line with the City’s Waste Plan.
- Oversee management of the Walliston Transfer Station and large external waste contracts.
- Ensure the City’s fleet meets safety and low-emission standards through effective procurement and lifecycle management.
- Oversee facility maintenance programs that support statutory, proactive, and reactive service delivery.
- Manage budgets, tenders, and contracts in accordance with the City’s financial and governance frameworks.
- Provide strong leadership to a multidisciplinary team focused on continuous improvement, safety, and customer service excellence.
- Engage with the community, contractors, and stakeholders to enhance service delivery, promote sustainability, and ensure responsive customer-focused outcomes.
About You
You are an experienced and dynamic leader who brings strong operational, strategic, and people management capabilities. You thrive in a complex environment and are committed to delivering sustainable services that make a tangible impact on the community.
You will hold:
- As a minimum, a tertiary qualification relevant to the business or allied skills in the areas or relevant experience
- Post graduate qualifications in project and or contract management or allied skill areas
- At least 5 years’ experience as a Coordinator where you managed significant number of staff
