Attending the Interview

Bring along any supporting documents, if required.
Arrive 15 minutes early to read through the interview questions and prepare your responses.
The recruitment panel consists of at least two members. Interviews follow a set format to ensure equity and fairness to each applicant.
Interviews range from 30 minutes to 1 hour in duration depending on the role.

Further Assessment

After the interview, People Services may contact your referees to conduct a Reference Check
For some roles a medical and/or drug & alcohol screen maybe undertaken
For some senior or specialty roles further selection testing may be undertaken such as skills assessment tests, emotional intelligence tests and/or cognitive ability tests.
For some roles a police check and/or Working with Children Check will be required.
All successful candidates will need to provide 100 points of ID and proof of their working rights in Australia.

Outcome

The successful candidate will be verbally offered the position, on acceptance they are given a written Offer of Employment.

Rates Officer (Full-time)

Position Type: Full-time
Salary: $86,049 – $100,087 pa + super per annum (depending on qualifications and experience) pro-rata plus superannuation.

About this Opportunity

Reporting to the Coordinator Rates, the purpose of this role is to provide a high level of quality customer service and assistance to the public with rating queries via in person conversations, telephone calls and written correspondence.

Key Duties include:

Executing changes of ownership and issue of settlement statements,
Actioning change of address matters to maintain the rates database,
Assisting in the administration and management of the debt recovery process and procedures in accordance with Council policies and external legislation,
Administration, monitoring and maintenance of rates related payment arrangements,
Assisting in interim rating matters which include property creation and rating; and
Processing of pensioner/senior application forms.

About You

We are seeking a motivated and adaptable individual who enjoys working in a busy environment and can consistently deliver high-quality work within required timeframes. The ideal candidate will be self-driven, able to effectively manage their time, and confident in using their initiative to support the team.

Although qualifications are not required, previous experience in a similar position is desirable.

Hours of Work

This is a permanent, full-time position working Monday to Friday, 75 hours per fortnight, with an option for flexible work arrangements including a fortnightly or monthly rostered day off.

About the Benefits

The salary range for this position is $86,049 - $100,087 per annum (depending on experience and skill level) plus superannuation.

Other inclusions are free parking, annual increments, EBA salary increases, a generous superannuation co-contribution scheme, 22 days annual leave which attracts 17.5% loading, Corporate Health Membership, free access to online learning, discounted membership at City owned facilities. Are you an experienced change and strategy leader who can turn organisational priorities into sustainable transformation?

The City of Kalamunda is seeking an experienced Organisational Change and Strategy Manager to lead enterprise-wide change, strategic planning and organisational performance initiatives. This is an opportunity to work closely with the Executive Leadership Team and senior leaders to strengthen organisational capability, readiness and alignment while supporting the delivery of the City’s strategic priorities.

About this Opportunity

Reporting to the Director Corporate Services and working within Business Performance & Strategy, you will lead organisational change, strategic planning and organisational performance initiatives that enable the City to successfully deliver its strategic priorities. Partnering with the Executive Leadership Team, you will drive organisational readiness, capability, alignment and benefits realisation to support sustainable transformation and community outcomes.

About You

You are an experienced change and strategy professional who can lead complex transformation and build organisational capability. You will be confident partnering with Executive and senior leaders, influencing stakeholders and navigating competing priorities and ambiguity.

You will bring strong communication, facilitation and analytical skills, with experience in organisational change, strategic planning and business transformation.

To be successful in this role, you will bring:

Relevant tertiary qualification in change management, organisational development, business, strategy, public administration, or a related discipline.
Change Management accreditation or demonstrated capability in recognised change management methodologies is highly desirable.
Demonstrated professional development in strategic planning, organisational change, facilitation, leadership, or continuous improvement is desirable.
Experience in business transformation, enterprise system change, or local government planning and performance environments is highly regarded.

Hours of Work

This is a permanent full-time negotiated contract working Monday to Friday, 75 hours per fortnight. A flexible work arrangement option such as flexitime, a 9-day fortnight is available.

About the Benefits

The salary for this position is $130,000 - $135,000 per annum (depending on qualifications and experience), plus superannuation.

This is a hands-on leadership opportunity where you will coordinate people, resources and maintenance programs to help ensure the City’s public spaces are safe, attractive and well maintained.

About this Opportunity

Reporting to the Coordinator Parks Operations, you will support the effective and efficient maintenance of Kalamunda’s parks and streetscapes and contribute to the management of the City’s parks and environmental assets.

You will lead staff and contractors, coordinate horticultural maintenance activities and works programs, respond to customer and operational requirements, and support the delivery of safe and high-quality services across the community.

About You

You are an experienced horticultural professional who understands what it takes to maintain high-quality parks, streetscapes and environmental assets while leading people in a busy operational environment. You are confident coordinating staff, contractors, works programs and competing priorities, and you bring a practical approach to problem-solving and service delivery. You communicate effectively with a wide range of stakeholders and can balance operational requirements with the expectations of the community. You will be comfortable taking ownership, supporting and developing your team, and responding flexibly when operational or emergency situations arise.

Admin Support Officer – Design & Construction

Coordinator Design

Salary: $111,376 – $129,864 per annum (depending on qualifications and experience) + superannuation.

About this Opportunity

Reporting to the Manager Design & Construction, you will assist in the effective and efficient coordination and management of the Project Design Team to deliver strategic outcomes and organisational goals.

The role is responsible for coordinating project design, estimating and surveying activities, together with the investigation, review and response to stormwater and traffic matters. You will provide technical leadership throughout the design process and help ensure civil infrastructure designs are practical, compliant, fit for purpose and aligned with the City’s Capital Works Program.

Selection Criteria

Extensive experience in a similar role within local government or a similar environment.
Proven ability to coordinate teams and manage time, resources and competing priorities to deliver high-quality outcomes within deadlines.
Highly developed interpersonal, negotiation and conflict resolution skills with the ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of stakeholders.
Demonstrated ability to build effective working relationships and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, while managing sensitive or confidential matters appropriately.
Highly developed written communication skills, including experience in preparing reports, proposals, technical documents and policies.
Highly developed analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to exercise sound judgement and initiative.
Demonstrated understanding of risk management and continuous improvement in infrastructure design and delivery.
Experience engaging with external regulatory authorities and obtaining approvals for civil works.
Capability in assessing constructability and lifecycle asset performance within civil design.
Proficient in industry-standard software including Microsoft Office Suite, Microsoft Project, AutoCAD and civil design tools.

Hours of Work

This is a permanent full-time position working 75 hours per fortnight. Flexible work options are available, including a 9-day fortnight or flexitime.
