The City of Kalamunda Community Health and Wellbeing Plan 2018 – 2022. identifies
the health and wellbeing needs of the Kalamunda community and establishes priorities and strategies to guide the City over the next five years. It informs the way in which public health is managed within the City of Kalamunda and provides the
framework for an integrated and collaborative approach that will support and enhance the community’s ability to lead healthy, productive and rewarding lives.
An analysis of demographic and health statistical data from federal, state and local area health agencies was completed and combined with the result of a thorough community consultation process. Actions were then made to target the specific health concerns
that the City’s residents face.

The purpose for this 6-week series is to encourage those who are at home during COVID-19 to keep active. These videos will demonstrate how exercise can be done in the home or out in the park and how to do these safely. The techniques, circuits and videos

Act-Belong-Commit is a comprehensive health promotion campaign that encourages individuals to take action to protect and promote their own mental wellbeing. One way to do this is to
commit to volunteering and carry out mentally healthy activities.
The City of Kalamunda is a proud partner of the ‘Act Belong Commit’ mental health promotion campaign to help create a more mentally healthy community.
Act-Belong-Commit is a world first program developed by Curtin University that encourages everyone to do things in their everyday lives to keep mentally healthy. Being active, having a sense of belonging, and having a purpose in life all contribute
to good mental health. We not only feel happier, but we can cope better with problems and stress.
Mental health promotion and early intervention activities, such as those promoted by Act Belong Commit are recognised as being key to increasing individual resilience and building community cohesion to prevent the onset of mental health problems. The
campaign encourages everyone to do things to keep mentally healthy by committing to the ABC guidelines for positive mental health:
ACT – Keep mentally, physically, spiritually and socially active.BELONG – Maintain and create new social connections, become involved in local groups, attend community events.COMMIT –
Take up a cause, volunteer, commit to something that brings meaning and purpose to your life.
The campaign works by promoting events and activities based in Kalamunda as great ways for people to look after their mental health, from sporting activities, to volunteer opportunities and community events.
