Are you a local resident π interested in learning more about how to be bushfire ready? Attend a Bushfire Ready Group street meet.
Bushfires have the capacity to strike without warning, and under the right environmental conditions, can quickly exceed firefighting resources. They can have devastating impacts on communities, properties, homes, and infrastructure, while posing significant threats to human life. Preparing for bushfires is a responsibility shared by the whole community; it is vital for residents to confidently prepare, safely respond, and recover from bushfires.
Given this, it is essential that both the broader community and individual households are supported in bushfire preparedness, awareness and survival planning.
At the street meet, you will:
π₯ Meet your local bushfire ready group and volunteers
π₯ Learn to navigate emergency WA to find warnings, total fire bans, and fire danger ratings
π₯ Have a 5-minute fire chat and learn how to create a bushfire plan
When: Saturday 2 November 2024, 9:30 - 11:30am
Where: West End Victoria Road, Wattle Grove
