Welshpool Road East Speed Limit Change & FAQs

The speed limit on Welshpool Road East is being reduced from 80 km/h to 70 km/h between Tonkin Highway and Canning Road.

The change follows a speed zoning review undertaken in accordance with Main Roads WA's Speed Zoning Policy and Safe System principles, which consider factors such as traffic volumes, road environment, crash history and roadside hazards.

The City of Kalamunda is aware there has been significant community interest in this change and understands that many residents and road users have questions about how the decision was made and why it has been implemented.
