College Students Help Re-Imagine Green spaces
The City of Kalamunda welcomed the hands on help of 120 Perth College students on Thursday, with students getting hands on in Jorgensen park working with the City of Kalamunda’s parks and Environment team and the Friends of Jorgensen park, who are celebrating their 10th anniversary this year.

60 Million for State of the Art Recreation and Aquatic leisure Centre
The City of Kalamunda has welcomed an announcement by Federal Labor Shadow Minister for Infrastructure Catherine King in partnership with the State Minster for Transport and Planning Rita Saffioti and Swan candidate Zaneta Mascarenhas who have pledged 60 million dollars to build the long-awaited community recreational facilities.

Throwing Shade — Street Tree Partnership Adds Greenery to City
The City of Kalamunda, in partnership with the WA Local Government Association (WALGA) and the Water Corporation, has planted and established 253 trees as part of the Street Tree Project, with more trees to be planted as we head into the wetter part of the year.

Works Commence at Woodlupine Brook Forrestfield
The City is transforming Woodlupine Brook from Strelizia Ave to Dawson Ave into a functioning living stream resulting in a more attractive and useable waterway for wildlife and the community.

Walliston Primary Students get Hands-on Conservation Experience
Students at Walliston Primary School were treated to a visit from Simon Cherriman and Danielle Crichton from Re-cycology this term to install a cockatube, donated by the City of Kalamunda, in one of the school’s Marri trees.

STRINGS Comes to KPAC
S.T.R.I.N.G.S. is a string quartet which really has gone rogue in a story from behind the scenes, in a domain never usually seen by the public: the rehearsal room! With one show only on Saturday 16 April at the Kalamunda Performing Arts Centre, punters are being encouraged to get their tickets quick.

The City of Kalamunda restricted burning period opens as usual between 1 April to 31 May. RESIDENTS ARE REQUIRED TO FOLLOW ALL CONDITIONS BEFORE BURNING.

Stirk Park Turtles Find New Home as Works Begin
Works have now commenced at Stirk Park Lake which has seen the need to drain the lake, and with the care of the locals a top priority the City enlisted the help of Mike and Mandy Bamford of Bamford Consulting Ecologists to relocate a group of Snake Necked Turtles this week.

Lights Camera Action at Maida Vale Reserve
The City is pleased to announce that works have begun on the Maida Vale Reserve sports lighting project. The new sports lighting will provide improved lighting for both Kalamunda United Football Club (KUFC) and Kalamunda Rangers, which host teeball, softball, and baseball.

Mountain biking – Riders Commended for Staying on the trails
The City provides a range of quality cycling, mountain biking and walk trails that cater for all levels of experience and which currently remain open to the community. The Kalamunda Trails area is one of the most popular mountain biking destinations in WA, with over 40km of fully signed tracks and located in scenic National Parks and State Forests.

Ray Owen Car Park Improvement Works to ease Congestion
As part of the 2021/2022 financial budget, the City of Kalamunda has begun works to the car park at Ray Owen Reserve, located at Grove and Gladys Roads, Lesmurdie. The car park construction commenced this month with expected completion early March 2022.
