Local History Award

The City is encouraging the community involvement in recording and promoting the rich history of the City of Kalamunda for future generations.

Kalamunda Library is holding the inaugural Local History Award in 2023.

We invite the community to submit their pre-2000 written and photographic memorabilia with historical significance to contribute towards the development of our history and heritage records.  

Entries may relate to people and events in any of the suburbs within the City of Kalamunda (Bickley, Canning Mills, Carmel, Forrestfield, Gooseberry Hill, Hacketts Gully, High Wycombe, Kalamunda, Lesmurdie, Maida Vale, Paulls Valley, Pickering Brook, Piesse Brook and Wattle Grove).

Entries close 5pm on Tuesday, 31 January 2023.

How to enter

If you would like to submit and contribute to our Local History Collection, please complete the online form below. Alternatively, entry forms can be collected from any of the City of Kalamunda Libraries with various submission options provided.

If you are supplying an original photograph which you do not wish to donate to the Local History Collection, the Library staff will be happy to help you scan your items to enter digitally.

Entries are open to all individuals, including non-residents, provided the subject matter is about people, places or events in the City of Kalamunda.

Entries will become part of the Local History Collection. Applicants may submit more than one entry but no more than 10. Please submit a separate entry for each.

Entries to be received by 5pm on Tuesday, 31 January 2023.
