Help Us Map Weeds and Protect Kalamunda’s Natural Beauty!
The City of Kalamunda’s Weed Watcher program invites the community to actively participate in mapping invasive weeds using the iNaturalist app. This initiative empowers residents to contribute valuable data on the presence and spread of invasive species, aligning with the Western Australian Weed Strategy.
By reporting weed sightings through iNaturalist, participants help the City to identify high-priority areas and species for targeted management. Start Mapping Turtles Today!
Record sightings of freshwater turtles or their nests in your local area using the TurtleSAT app. You can either register and log in, or simply enter your email address when submitting sightings. T
urtleSAT allows our community to map the locations of freshwater turtles in waterways and wetlands across the local government area. Australia’s unique freshwater turtles are in crisis—their numbers are declining, and your help is needed to track where turtles are being seen locally.
If you spot a freshwater turtle or a turtle nest near a creek, farm dam, or even on the road, enter the location in the TurtleSAT app. Your sightings will help City land managers track turtle movement and behaviour, aiding in the protection of turtles and their offspring in your local area.
