Join award winning author Dr Chris Berry as he shares the history of local government in Kalamunda and WA, from first beginnings to the goldrush, through two world wars and the Great Depression.
2021 marked the 150th anniversary of the first roads boards and municipalities, an important step in the creation of a comprehensive system of local government for Western Australia. The City of Kalamunda started its life as the Darling Range Road Board in 1897.
Hear the personal stories of the characters who have been part of the remarkable story of local government in WA.
