Garage Sale Trail back in the City of Kalamunda

The Garage Sale Trail and the City of Kalamunda have announced a series of Trail Tutorials and free online masterclasses, hosted by some seriously stylish Australians.

Learn to style, mend and shop secondhand in the lead up to Garage Sale Trail weekend which is happening across the country on Saturday 21 and Sunday 22 November 2020. 

Mayor Margaret Thomas said “the workshops are presented by the City of Kalamunda in conjunction with the Garage Sale Trail.  Learn how to farewell fast fashion forever with the Trail Tutorials, Garage Sale Trail’s new series of free online masterclasses”. 

Mayor Thomas added “It’s a great initiative. Hosted by some of Australia’s brightest, best and most stylish.  Learn how to style, mend and shop secondhand to minimise your waste and also save money.” 

Garage Sale Trail is a multi-award-winning community and sustainability campaign taking place in the City of Kalamunda as well as across the country.  The campaign culminates on Saturday 21 and Sunday 22 November with over 16,000 online and neighbourhood garage sales. Now in its tenth year, Garage Sale Trail is one gigantic weekend of planet saving, money making fun! 

Trail Tutorials are a new addition to the Garage Sale Trail program and have been designed to show how to reduce waste without having a garage sale. They’re free to join, open to everyone and bookings open today at www.garagesaletrail.com.au

Receive your fashion first aid training with the nation’s leading clothes-mending practitioner Erin Lewis-Fitzgerald (author of Modern Mending) and ‘Stain Slayer’ Christina Reitano on Saturday 24 October at 11am. 

Master the art of secondhand styling with some of the country’s biggest names in sustainable styling and fashion, Hannah Klose (Never Ever Pay Retail) and Natalie Shehata (Founder and Editor of Tommie Magazine and National Eco Stylist for Save The Children Op Shops) will take place on Saturday 7 November at 11am. 

2020 marks the first time ever that Australians can participate in the event online as well as face to face. To celebrate, Garage Sale Trail will be hosting the free online masterclasses throughout October and November.
