The City of Kalamunda extends its condolences with the passing of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth the Second.

The City of Kalamunda extends its condolences with the passing of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth the Second.

Mayor Margaret Thomas, “The Queen dedicated her life to serve and did so for 70 years. It is a significant time span, surpassing all others, giving a new definition to a life of service. Her Majesty showcased grace, kindness, wisdom and calm in all that she did.”

“Our thoughts are with the Queens Children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and extended members of the Royal family at this time.”

“We stand together in mourning.”

Flags throughout the City of Kalamunda have been dropped to half-mast out of respect. Queen Elizabeth II was patron of 27 organisations in Australia, including hospitals, army groups and youth services, many of these organisations have local branches and activities including the Kalamunda Branch of the RSL and the Australian Red Cross.

A condolence book is available at Government House and online for people to pay tribute. To leave a message of condolences online visit:  Her Majesty The Queen | Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet (pmc.gov.au) Government House will be under “court” mourning from the 9th of September to the 19th of September. During this time all events, functions, visits and calls will be cancelled, and the House and Gardens will be open only for official mourning duties.
