Playground replacement progressing at Maida Vale Reserve

The City of Kalamunda will begin removing the existing playground at Maida Vale Reserve this week as the next step towards delivering a new playground for the community.

The playground has remained temporarily closed following a recent structural engineering assessment which identified safety concerns with the existing equipment. The area has been fenced and signed while arrangements were made for its removal.
Community safety remains our highest priority, which is why the equipment can no longer remain in service.
The good news is that this is not the end of play at Maida Vale Reserve.
A full replacement playground is already planned as part of the City's 2026/27 Capital Works Program, with a modern new play space to be installed following detailed design, procurement and construction.

In the meantime, families are encouraged to visit one of the many nearby playgrounds, including:

🌳 Davies Park
🌳 Poison Gully Pinker Playground
🌳 Meloway Drive Reserve
🌳 Nestle Brae Creek Reserve
