Works are scheduled to commence early October 2020 (during the first week of the school holidays). The purpose is to finalise the road surface works conducted earlier this year on Welshpool Road East from Lewis Road, Wattle Grove to Gladys Road, Lesmurdie. Works are estimated to take a maximum of three (3) days to complete. This time-frame may vary slightly due to weather conditions and contractor availability.
Variable Message Boards (VMB) are being installed to notify commuters of scheduled works. Commuters should be aware that the proposed road works will include traffic management, variable speed zones. Detours and temporary road closures during 6.00am to 6.00pm are also to be expected. Commuters are requested to accommodate these road works in their travel plans, follow signage and traffic management directions and be patient whilst these works are underway.
Properties located in the area of the proposed works may experience some disruption in relation to exiting and entering properties. For any related access issues, you are requested to contact the City’s contractor, Downer on 0417 812 385 in the first instance, who will then make appropriate arrangements.
Further road resurfacing works are scheduled to take place between Albert Road and Pomeroy Road on Welshpool Road East during this period. A part of the road will be traffic management to accommodate the affected lane closure. Works are scheduled to be completed in a day.
