Mayor Margret Thomas said, “This concert proudly sits within the City’s 2021 Perth Hills Spring Festival and was curated to deliver an amazing cultural experience while promoting the region to a wider audience,”

“It’s going to be such a fantastic experience and I encourage our local community to book their tickets now and get ready to pack a picnic, bring their seats or a blanket and join us for an evening of heavenly music under a canopy of stars amplified by the sweet perfume of roses.”

Founder & CEO of Perth Symphony Orchestra Bourby Webster said,  “Perth Symphony has made a huge name for itself playing for communities across WA. We are a very different kind of orchestra, bringing to life many different genres of music for the entire community to enjoy. We cannot wait to come and perform for the Kalamunda community in such a memorable setting. From David Bowie, to J.S.Bach, and from Jungle Book to the Lion King, there will be something for everyone. The songs we will perform with Phil Walleystack will also add a really meaningful element to the performance as he sings about his culture and stories. It’s definitely a night not to be missed!”

Phil Walleystack, of Walley-Stack International said, “I’m looking forward to getting back on stage and collaborating with PSO, our last tour together was magical and it will be great to perform for the Kalamunda community again too."

Tickets can be purchased in person from Kalamunda Performing Arts Centre, 48 Canning Road, by phoning 9257 2558 or online via kpac48.sales.ticketsearch.com.

Adult tickets are $20, concession and youth (12 – 18 years) tickets are $15. Kids under 12 are free.
Parking is available at the venue.

In addition to the concert, PSO has been working with schools in the District to share local histories that connect the Indigenous community and provide a rich program of musical entertainment in a post-COVID environment.

“The school’s component of the Spirit of the Valley program has been designed to unlock opportunities for children to learn new skills, flame an interest in the arts while the concert will provide a way for them to be included in a musical performance,” Ms Hardy said.

Funding for the Spirit of the Valley concert and school’s program includes $45,500 from the Department of Culture and the Arts with support from the City of Kalamunda.
