New Life for Water Slides as Refurbishment gets Green Light
At the Ordinary Council Meeting on 25 July 2023, the City of Kalamunda approved the revised scope of works for the Kalamunda Water Park's water slides, set to be completed before the start of the 2023/24 season.
The City confirmed its commitment to the ongoing maintenance and operation of the facility with an investment of close to one (1) million dollars this financial year.
The refurbishment project aims to enhance the park's leisure facilities and ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for all visitors.
Mayor Margaret Thomas expressed excitement about the project, stating, "Works during the off season will include maintenance for both the slides and the pool.
“I know community members have been asking when the works will start and I am so pleased to see the project progressing now.
“Community members will see activity on site over the coming weeks, with the fencing and scaffolding the first items, along with removal of redundant infrastructure.”
The Kalamunda Water Park, operated seasonally through a Management Agreement with Belgravia Leisure, has been a popular recreational spot for residents and visitors alike for over 50 years. The City's commitment to providing quality leisure facilities aligns with its vision of promoting an active and connected community.
