Legacy Lantern Ceremony: A Community Tribute to Loved Ones
The City of Kalamunda, in partnership with Kalamunda Compassionate Communities, is proud to announce the Legacy Lantern Ceremony, a free community event honouring the memories of loved ones who have passed away.
Scheduled for Saturday 25 May from 4:30pm to 6:30pm at Stirk Park, the Legacy Lantern Ceremony invites people from all walks of life to participate in a heartfelt remembrance ceremony.
Attendees will have the opportunity to light lanterns decorated with messages of love and the names of their departed loved ones, creating a heartfelt tribute on the park's lake.
"We are honoured to provide a space for our community to come together and remember those who have touched our lives," said Mayor Margaret Thomas. "The Legacy Lantern Ceremony embodies the spirit of unity and compassion that defines our City."
The event emphasises inclusivity and accessibility, welcoming individuals of all abilities. For personalised assistance or enquiries regarding specific needs, attendees are encouraged to contact the City on 9257 9999.
Limited parking is available at Stirk Park, so participants are encouraged to use alternative parking in the nearby Kalamunda shopping precinct.
To take part in this touching ceremony, please reserve a free lantern in advance via www.trybooking.com/CPYIY.
Lanterns will be retrieved after the event, ensuring a seamless experience for all involved.
This event is open to people living, working or volunteering in the City of Kalamunda.
