City Introduces New EV Charging Station at Kalamunda Library
The City of Kalamunda is excited to share the new electric vehicle (EV) charging station at the Kalamunda Library is now operational.
As
per Council decision, the charging station will be free for the first
few months, offering a fantastic opportunity for our community to
experience the convenience and benefits of electric vehicle ownership.
Mayor Margaret Thomas expressed her enthusiasm for this new station, stating, “After the free use period, the public charger will accept credit card payments, making it accessible to everyone in our community. This is another step forward in our commitment to sustainability and supporting greener transportation options for our residents.”
The new charging station, an Alternating Current (AC) BEV charger with two sockets, was jointly funded through the State Government's Charge Up EV Grant and the City.
“The City remains dedicated to promoting sustainable initiatives and reducing our carbon footprint,” Cr Thomas said. The introduction of this EV charging station aligns with our broader environmental goals and commitment to supporting the adoption of greener transportation solutions within our community."
