2024 SEED Young Entrepreneurs Awards Night
The City of Kalamunda celebrated young entrepreneurs at the SEED Awards Night held earlier this month at the Kalamunda Community Centre, awarding a total of $2,500 in prize money to this year's winners.
Five participants shared in the SEED prize pool, with Isabelle P emerging as the Overall Winner for her business, Honey Jade Jewellery-Bead and Sip Program. Isabelle received $1,000 in funding along with a tailored Business Mentoring Package, which includes a finance health check, social media health check, and personalised business mentoring.
The annual SEED program guides young people aged 15-25 through the process of kickstarting their business ideas with skill-building workshops led by local business leaders. The 2024 Awards Night honoured the dedication and hard work of this year’s participants.
Special guest speaker, Elizabeth Knight, Founder of Purposeful, inspired the winners with her insightful presentation.
Mayor Margaret Thomas expressed her enthusiasm for the program, saying, "The SEED Young Entrepreneurs Competition is a testament to the creativity and entrepreneurial spirit of our young people. It's inspiring to see their innovative ideas come to life, and we are proud to support their journeys."
The City will continue to support this valuable initiative in 2025, partnering with Hawaiian’s Forrestfield and the Kalamunda Chamber of Commerce.
