Hiking is for every body! Accessible hiking program now open!
The City of Kalamunda, in partnership with Off the Beaten Track WA, is excited to launch Accessible Adventures, a program designed to make hiking more inclusive and accessible for people of all abilities.
Supported by funding of $19,488 through the WA Hiking Participation Grants Program, Accessible Adventures is designed to make hiking accessible for people of all abilities. The program offers a tailored and inclusive approach, fostering a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment, where participants can enjoy the outdoors and build confidence through enriching experiences.
This initiative reflects the City’s ongoing commitment to promoting access, inclusion, and wellbeing for all. By creating opportunities for people living with disability to connect with nature and stay active, the City continues to foster a vibrant and inclusive community where everyone can thrive.
The accessible hikes will be delivered as a monthly series, from April through to October 2025. Duration of hikes can vary between 2-hour or half-day hikes, with a special overnight hike in October.
Participants can bring a carer or support person free of charge, ensuring a truly inclusive experience.
If you’re a person living with a disability in WA, we’d love to see you on the trails!
Registrations are essential and small fees apply. For more information and for bookings, visit Off the Beaten Track WA.
