Friends of Railway Heritage Reserve
Last updated: 15 May, 2019
About:
The Railway Heritage Trail reserve follows
the path of the old railway reserve which ran from Walliston through Lesmurdie, Kalamunda, Gooseberry Hill and towards the Zig Zag.
It is a long thin reserve with a well used walk path through the middle, serving as a high use public thoroughfare and wildlife corridor.
The reserve is maintained by the Friends of Railway Heritage Trail, a group of passionate local residents who undertake trail maintenance, vegetation management and planting activities in support of the trail’s environmental and heritage values. Due to the long and thin nature of the Railway Heritage Trail, it is split into four sections – North, Central, South and Walliston sections – to make it easier to manage.
