Friends of Vernallen Way Reserve

Purple and yellow wildflowers along a gravel path lined with rocksVernallen Way Reserve is a small block of bushland located on the corner of Vernallen Way and Karralika Avenue, Lesmurdie, representative of the Darling Range vegetation complex. The reserve has been tended by the Friends of Vernallen Reserve for many years and boasts a rock lined walk path which provides a pleasant meander for visitors, especially in spring when the wildflowers are out!

Mum, Dad, two children and Grandma during a workday at Vernallen ReserveThe Friends of Vernallen Reserve have undertaken weed removal, rubbish collection, fuel management and planting activities in the reserve for many years, with assistance from many local residents.

Male volunteer with a rake at Vernallen ReserveIn 2016 the group had a 'Cock-a-tube' nesting box and bat box installed to provide additional habitat within the reserve. Local naturalist Simon Cherriman installed both the units and gave advice on maintaining them.
