Activity Centres Strategy

The City of Kalamunda’s Activity Centres Strategy will ensure that activity centres within the City are delivered to optimise community benefit by providing direction to guide the future development and enhancement of amenity.

At the Ordinary Council Meeting 23 March 2021 the Strategy was adopted.

The City of Kalamunda will have a network of commercial activity centres that are characterised by their diversity, flexibility and unique character.

The Strategy establishes a hierarchy of activity centres (District, Neighbourhood, Local and Convenience) and places all of the City’s activity centres within one of those categories. Retail modelling was undertaken to predict the future retail demand and expansion of activity centres and determine whether future and potential activity centres would be viable. The Strategy forms a component of the City’s Local Planning Strategy. Due to be reviewed in 2023/24.
