This means that you can get involved as much or as little as you like, and work to your skill sets and interests. As a member you would get to choose whether you would attend either meeting or both.
The YAK meetings take place on the:

Collaborate with like-minded people and create programs surrounding your passions and issues identified within the community. Build a variety of skills including networking, communication, public speaking and coordination. Take a stand and use this platform to make positive change!
We also approach our YAK team with volunteering opportunities when extra assistance is needed at different City of Kalamunda events. These can include MCing at events, helping run an event stall and more! It's a great way to build your skills and add experience to your resume.
Each year, get involved with the YAK Team in a team building day to develop team work, communication and leadership skills. Hosted previously at the Bickley Outdoor Recreation Camp and the Kalamunda Water Park, our activities are always fun and unique!
If this sounds like something you’d like to be involved in, then contact the City of Kalamunda’s Youth Team.
Some of the events created by YAK include:
The group helped plan the Jump, Climb, Create Festival as part of Youth Week WA in April. This event included local sporting clubs, arts activities and inflatables that young people could try. The event promoted getting active and involved in the community, staying mentally and physically healthy. Some of the activities included: have a go at yoga, kickboxing, football, hockey, little athletics, weaving, rock painting, wire sculpture art and a smoothie bike. There was also a mechanical surfboard and obstacle course.
Held in October 2021, the group created this fun workshop to help discover how nutrition, sleep, friendships, and self-talk play a vital role in maintaining your own wellbeing.
For 2019 term 2, the group organized a movie night at the Kalamunda Town Square Hall. There were spy themed games, a sausage sizzle and popcorn!
